Gyms in Savela — what to know
Savela is one of Jyväskylä's smallest districts: a little over two thousand people in two halves, Savela proper to the west and Palokunnanmäki to the east, where the red-brick blocks date from the 1990s. A fire station stood here from 1962 until 2011 and was demolished to make room for housing. The Kortepohja student village begins immediately to the north, and the local S-market serves through the night.
What decides things for training is the neighbourhood, not the district. The Hippos sports complex is 900 metres away, the water sports centre 1.3 kilometres, the city centre about 1.6.
