A squat rack is a sturdy metal frame whose adjustable hooks hold a barbell at a suitable height before squats and other standing lifts. It lets you take the bar onto your shoulders and return it to the rack safely without a separate spotter. Most racks also have adjustable safety bars or pins that catch the bar if a lift fails. A squat rack enables heavy lower-body training and develops the strength of the thighs and glutes in a controlled way.
Model:
The rack holds the bar at the top and bottom of the squat, leaving the thighs and glutes to produce the hip and knee extension that raises the loaded body.
