A dip station consists of two parallel bars used for body-weight presses, or dips. The trainee supports the whole body on straight arms and lowers by bending the elbows until the upper arms are roughly horizontal, then presses back up. The movement effectively develops the strength of the triceps, chest and shoulders. Changing the torso position shifts the emphasis toward either the chest or the triceps, and the exercise can be eased with a band or made harder with added weight.
