A stair climber mimics continuous stair climbing, either with a rotating set of steps or with pedals that sink alternately. It is an effective cardio machine that raises the heart rate quickly and heavily loads the glutes, the front of the thigh and the calves. Adjusting the step rate keeps the workout light or makes it very demanding. Because the movement repeatedly lifts your own body weight, the machine develops both lower-limb endurance and strength endurance without large impact on the joints.
