Under the Turku sports services price list, a single gym entry is 8.40 € for adults and 4.20 € for concession groups. A ten-visit series is 65 € (concessions 32.50 €). The four-month exercise wristband is 84 € (concessions 42 €); the wristband itself is 8 €. Concession groups include students, pensioners, 4–16-year-olds and the unemployed. Pitkämäki is old industrial land two kilometres from the market square, along the Naantali expressway. The Pukkila tile works ran here from 1874 until it closed in 2015, and housing is going up on the factory plot. The district's landmark is still the postmodern Manhattan shopping building on Pitkämäenkatu, finished in 1990.
That history shapes the gyms. Wide machine floors are on the city-centre side, while the old production and storage halls have filled with functional training groups and small coach-led rooms where you pay for the coaching, not for the equipment count. The trade-off is real: if a big machine floor is what you want, there is little reason to look here.
The figure of 30 gyms is not 30 gyms in Pitkämäki. It is what falls within three and a half kilometres, and the market square is ten minutes away by bike, so the choice is the centre's choice minus a handful. Westwards it reaches Iso-Heikkilä and the old factory site at Kirstinpuisto. The median is 42.95 euros a month, a couple under the centre, floor 30 and ceiling 116.
Ten are open 24 hours, eight let you try before joining and five are women-only. Twelve run classes, eight have a sauna and one is municipal, with per-visit pricing. Two self-adjusting machine systems fall inside the radius, HUR towards Länsikeskus and EGYM at Kupittaa, both far enough away to be worth moving for only if you want the machine to set your programme.
