A gym card in central Kaarina costs between 32.90 and 47.90 euros a month. That fifteen-euro spread is narrow: no hundred-euro fitness centres here, and nothing at the stripped-back bottom either. The median of 45 describes the market better than either end, which means price rarely decides — location and opening hours do.
The gyms are tightly clustered. All six of the nearest sit within a kilometre of the town centre, close enough to walk round in one afternoon. Nine are counted in the area altogether. Two are open 24 hours, three offer a free trial, two have a sauna and two run classes. There is no women-only gym in the centre; for that you cross into Turku.
The town runs facilities of its own. The swimming hall has a gym attached, the central sports park has an athletics track, a heated artificial pitch and a disc golf course, and the Vapari rooms on Kyynäräkatu occupy a civil defence shelter containing shooting and archery ranges, a judo mat, a boxing room and a dance floor. The centre runs from Hovirinta down to Kuusistonsalmi, so a swimming beach is close.
Turku's market square is about ten kilometres away by road, and a direct bus runs from Kaarina through central Turku all the way to Naantali. Kaarina is inside the Föli network, so crossing over costs no extra fare — worth weighing if you want a large class timetable or a gym with its own pool. For a bench, a rack and a cable stack, you need not leave town.
